Photo Challenge

This week's challenge is to find or take some pictures of the landscape of where you live.  Do you live in a desert, by the ocean, on the plains?  It's not very often we think to take pictures of our landscape because we're always so focused on taking pictures of events or people.  Take a couple of minutes to photograph a few shots of the area you live in during the summer time.

Here's a shot I took just down the street from our house right before the sun set on a nice and HOT day this summer in Las Vegas.  We live just on the edge of town and I enjoy being able to look out and see the beautiful mountains from our house...even if it's 110 degrees!

"Ribbon has become somewhat of my signature in my crafting. I am always trying to find new ways to use my ribbon other than just a beautiful bow, such as layering, framing, or just a single simple loop."

It has been so fun getting to know our Design Team members!  This week we're featuring designer Laura Davis.  When asked to tell us a little about herself here's what she said...

 

"Hello, my name is Laura Davis, I am a wife and a mother to a 15 year old daughter.  My family and I live in beautiful Denver, Colorado.  I enjoy running, working out, cooking and creating.  Creating is my passion.  I love being inspired, and inspiring others.  I am thrilled to be a part of the Piggy tales Family!

I scrapbook/create because I am smitten over the rich products this wonderful industry offers through colors, textures and techniques.  Nothing says "I love you" more than a homemade heartfelt card, LO, or altered item."

PTA August preview

Check out the August PTA kit Sneak Peek online now!  This month will be packed full of paper and embellishments to help you capture school memories.  Don't have kids?  That's okay.  If you're like me you probably have tons of old photos from school that you have sitting in a box somewhere just waiting for you to scrapbook.  Now's the time to pull them out and reminisce about your childhood school days!

July PTA Update & Weekly Photo Challenge

July PTA kits have all been shipped!  If you haven't already received your kit please contact us as they should have all been delivered by now.  

This week's photo challenge is to find some pictures that show things you enjoy doing in the summer!   Here's a few things we've enjoyed this summer...playing on the beach, having mud fights, picking apricots... 

 

Favorite Technique by Renee'

Right now I am addicted to flowers and I am making paper flowers like crazy...I just can't seem to get enough of them. They are  easy and fun to make too - I use my Nestibilities (I have used circle, scalloped, inverted scalloped, etc.) Cut your paper and then spray each piece with a bit of water to help make it more "workable" but don't get it too wet...crinkle it up...and then start layering. Add a brad in the center to hold together. Once the paper is dry you can reposition it to get the look you want. I LOVE these flowers!

I’m a mom, wife and teacher and recently I’ve gone back to the classroom and just can’t believe how much happiness it has brought back to my life. I live in Eastern Washington State, which is the desert side of the state. I have three adorable kiddos and a very amazing hubby, who supports all that I do. I have been scrapping for over 10 years! I scrapbook because it helps me to document our crazy BUSY lives and it also helps me to think about the things that are important and put them into perspective.
