Happy Holidays blog friends!  I hope all of you had a wonderful Thanksgiving filled with yummy food and happy hearts shared with family and friends.  Today is the first day of the official countdown to Christmas cheer and I thought I would kick it off with an ornament idea!  I used our 2nd Generation Barn Doors and covered it paper, letter stickers and trims and created this little ornament for my daughter.  I glittered the paper a bit to give it a festive look and attached her picture to the inside to capture her cute little 9 year old free spirit!  These very fun interactive embellishments can be painted, covered with paper, stamped and embellished and used for your scrapbooks and cards.  I love how sturdy the chipboard is and it is perfect for these ornaments!

"Baby Muma" a single card layout by Ruth Clarke

"Baby Muma" a single layout by Ruth Clarke using the "Row, Row, Row Your Boat" collection.

Supply List:  (Piggy Tales and Scotch)

• 3M Scotch Scrapbookers 2 way glue
• 3 M Scotch tape runner 
• # 420 -  Life Glitter paper
• # 421-  Gently Glitter paper
• # 422 – Your Glitter Paper (reverse side)
• # 427- Cardstock Stickers
• # 429 - Epoxy Shapes
• Other –AquaDMC thread for sewing lines,
• 1 Sheet of White Cardstock
• Black ink

  Instructions:

• Cut a piece 8 ½” x 11 ½” from  the # 421  Gently Life paper 
• Cut a piece of white cardstock at size 10 ¼” x 7” and scallop the edges. Adhere this cardstock  with your 3M Scotch tape runner to your # 421 Gently Life paper leaving an even allowance around all four sides of your layout.
• Adhere your photos to the reverse side of # 422 Glitter Paper on the reverse side (blue side) and than place this piece on your layout, 1” down from the top of the white cardstock.
• Cut out 4 flowers from the #420 Life Glitter paper and ink the edges with black ink.  See photo for reference.  Place some #429 epoxy shapes to the centre of each flower. Adhere these with your 3M Scotch Scrapbookers 2 way glue to the bottom of your photographs.
• Add your title to the right top side of the layout using # 427- Cardstock letter Stickers. (see photo for reference.) and some journaling too.
• Finally rule in a border line ¼” in from your white scalloped edge, pierce these lines and sew with 3 strands of Aqua thread using backstitch. Tie some bows with this same thread in the centre of your Epoxy shapes on the flowers.

Tip:   Add bows to the centre of Epoxy shapes to bring definition and interest.

Product Spotlight; Rub Ons

Almost all of our collections include coordinating rub-ons. They are cute and simple to use but most of all add some flare to your projects. Each sheet measures 5.9" x 5.9". One of the things I love most about rub-ons is that you can use them for more than just scrapbooking. It seems like there are always a few left after a project is complete.

Here's a cute idea but I would warn that these are for cosmetic purposes only and not recommended for child use. While great for scrapbooking, they tend to come off when they are sucked or chewed on! These letters came from the Itsy Bitsy Spider and Tortoise and the Hare collections. We also offer rub-on shapes.

 I know, Halloween has come and gone, but seriously, have you checked out our new Halloween collection?  It has got to be one of the funnest and it definitely has THE cutest ghosts I've ever seen!  So, I was thinking about how cute these little guys would be for other projects and I whipped out a few very easy and quick cards that anyone can make!  I made a belated birthday card and an all-occasion card with fun sentiments that wouldn't scare anyone...instead they will bring a smile!  

 
And if those sentiments aren't what you're looking for, here's a few more I came up with....

• Happy Boo-day to You!
• You're how old?  No, no don't tell us....it's far too scary!
• Way to rock, your Boo-ty!  Congrats!

Using the Row, Row, Row, Your Boat Paper Collection

Supply List:  (Piggy Tales and Scotch)

• 3 M Scotch tape runner 
• 3M Scotch double sided foam tape
• 3M Scotch Scrapbookers 2-way glue
• # 415 – Down paper (reverse side)
• # 420 – Life Glitter paper
• # 425 – Chipboard shapes
• # 427 – Cardstock Letter Stickers
• 4 ½” x 9” White textured cardstock
• Other –Black DMC threads for sewing lines,
• Other:- Ribbon scrap; Black ink, small letters

 

Instructions:

• Cut a piece of white cardstock 4 ½” x 9” and fold in half.
• Cut a piece from the #415 – Down paper (blue side) at a size- 3” x 4 5/8” and ink the edges with black ink. Adhere it to the white cardstock with your 3M Scotch tape runner with equal distances from all four sides of your folded card.
• Cut out a half green flower and a black flower from the #420 – Life Glitter paper and using your 3M Scotch scrapbookers 2 way glue, adhere your green flower to the left bottom side- see above photo for reference.
• Next add your oval #425 chipboard Shape to the bottom of the card and than add your sentiment using the # 427 Cardstock Letter Stickers.
• Thread a bit of scrap ribbon through the holes of your  #427 flower chipboard shape than add some 3M Scotch double sided foam tape to the reverse side and adhere to your card, using the above photo for placement reference.
• Next add your black flower after you have put a some 3M Scotch double sided foam tape on the back of it. Adhere it to the card than draw some lines out from your black flower, piercing each end of the drawing lines.
• With your black DMC thread sew with 3 strands of thread on each line from hole to hole using the above photo for reference.
• Tip:   Add 3 M Scotch double sided foam tape to your embellishments to give your project definition.
