Halloween Card Ideas by Heidi Sonboul

Happy Halloween!
I used Beauty and the Beast- Piggy Tales paper
Scotch Adhesive

To create this card, I cut many small strips of 3X1 inch and layered them. Once I had them all layered... I mounted that onto the card.


BOO

I used
old king cole- piggy tales
scotch
Piggy Tale Letter stickers
SEI Brads

 
 
To create this card, cut a strip of pattern paper 12X5 inches
Then fold into 3rds.
The ghost are cut freehand and placed on with Foam tape to give a 3D look.
To create the tie close, simply punch 2 holes and add brads with cardstock.

Fancy Pants - pins
Scotch adhesive
Martha Stewart punch

To create the holes I used different sized hole punches :)
The bat is placed on with foam tape

"Crisp leaves, cooler weather, cozy sweaters, plump pumpkins and apples drizzled in caramel....this is absolutely my favorite time of year!  I wanted to create a cute basket filled to the brim with the fixings for caramel apples to give to friends and neighbors this festive time of year and wanted a cute card to go with it.  I used this gooey treat as my inspiration and I love how it turned out!  You can even make your own with the pattern I've created that you can download right here!Download Caramel Apple Pattern
 
Here are a few tips while you make your own yummy creation!

• Fold a piece of white cardstock in half and trace the whole apple pattern so that the top is along the fold.  Don't cut the top of the apple as this will be the fold for the top of your card.
• Glue your popsicle stick to your card front and then adhere the rest of your papers.
• Trace the whole apple pattern on the green paper and adhere it to the top of your white cardstock.
• Trace the caramel pattern on the tan paper and ink your edges lightly before you adhere it to the top of your apple.
• Adhere your stickers to the apple, tie ribbon around the stick and enjoy!

{I Spy}

 
I recently came across this page in Scrapbook Cards Today, Summer 09, Issue 14. It's great to see these Piggy Tales papers and run-ons used in this "you are my sunshine" card. The scallops and layers add dimension and a bit of whimsy. I love the way the "its raining, it's pouring" paper really looks like rain. A perfect card for this time of the year.

Supplies:
Piggy Tales dream patterned paper.
Piggy Tales row row row your boat chipboard shapes
Piggy Tales row row row your boat cardstock letter stickers.
Bazzill cardstock.
SEI brad.
 
Instructions:
Place a strip of dotted paper across the center of card base.
Adhere greeting above paper strip on left of card.
Set chipboard tag along the strip of patterned paper on the right side and place brad in hole of tag.
Add chipboard star to tag.

tip for the star thanks card-
if you run out of exclamation points... simply use the letter l for your exclamation.
When adding the brad through the hole in the chipboard tag- do this before adhering the tag down.  Use a bit of extra scotch adhesive (photo split for example) on the back of where the brad prongs have been folded behind your tag to make sure the tag will stick.  This way you wont have the back of the brad poking through the front of the card.

 I wanted to create a cute little something to hang on my fridge for the next few weeks to help build the anticipation for Halloween in our home for my two sweet kiddos!  I dug out a photo of them a few years ago and decided to make a very clean and simple layout that I've attached to the front of our fridge that they LOVE.  Piggy Tales chipboard alphabet shapes were the perfect template for a little painting to give it a fun look!  I used the negative portion of the alphabet shape and used a sponge to paint the letters directly on my surface.  I love Piggy Tales' sturdy chipboard that is perfect for this technique!  Be sure to not throw away your chipboard leftovers and use them for tracing and cutting out or painting the shape!

{I Spy} Thursday

The other night, the kids and I decided to make cookies for our friends and let them know how grateful we are for them…..so after taking some over to Brandon, she said that she was going to take a picture of the packaging because it was so dang cute.  Coming from her, I was quite impressed with my self…..until I get the picture….so in an effort to shame her and make her call with apologies…..

 

 

 

 

Can you believe that???  The thanks that I get for doing something nice!!  Well I have to say before you all start commenting on what a mean sister I have…I should admit that I am not the best baker in the family and I did buy the pre-made stuff but I used my own cookie cutters and dyed the icing all by myself…and thanks to Stacy Julian I have found a love for sprinkles!!!  I try….but she did send me a nice photo of the package….I think that she was just trying to show off her new camera!!!

 

 

 

Don’t ya think just the second photo would have been nice??  I just used scraps from Goldilocks & the 3 Bears Collection and then stapled to a brown school lunch bag!!!  I love making bag toppers…..
