Tips and Tricks by Wendy Johnson

 

We are always looking for creative ways to stretch our scrapbooking supplies.  Try using the negative shape of your chipboard shapes as frames and windows in your projects!  For this card I cut a square from the card front and adhered a transparency between the card and the flower chipboard shape.  This created a little window to the inside of the card.  I then applied a rub-on to the window to give it the finishing touch!

Piggy Tales Welcomes Wendy Johnson

Piggy Tales welcomes Wendy Johnson as our new education coordinator.

"I fell in love with paper crafting at a very young age when Elmer’s glue, rounded tip safety scissors, construction paper and scratch-n-sniff stickers were my very first products to play with!  This love soon took flight six years ago when I was first published in Simple Scrapbooks Magazine, Women’s Day Magazine and then later the first issue of Paper Crafts Magazine.  As a Founding PC Pro for Paper Crafts magazine, I have been published in nearly every issue, authored The Joy of Card Making book series, traveled the country teaching to paper crafting enthusiasts and spent many hours researching product trends, techniques and brainstorming ideas.  I’m thrilled to join the Piggy Tales Family as the new Education Coordinator and look forward to sharing our fabulous products and ideas with you through our convention classes and monthly kit club.  I’m so blessed to be given this opportunity!  My other passions include interior design, making little handmade gifts for others, being a sports momma, cherry limeades and my pj’s, and enjoying my cute family!"

I'd like to introduce to you.... Heidi Sonboul

Here's a little bit about Heidi!  We're so incredibly LUCKY to have her on our team!  She's so AWESOME!  

My Name is Heidi Sonboul and I'm super passionate about paper! I've been scrapbooking for 15 years and the last 2 year have been published with Creating Keepsakes, Scrapbook etc., Scrapbook Trends, and many more. I'm lucky enough to be a stay at home mother to two adorable boys. I look forward to serving on the Piggy Tales and 3M design team. A day without paper or crafting in it would be incomplete, so here's to scrapbooking... my favorite hobby!

DT Showcase- Ruth Clarke

Meet Ruth Clarke!  I've loved Ruthy so much we brought her back for a second term!  We love her whimsical and girlie flair to her designs!  She's sooo AMAZING!  Here's a little about her!

I began scrapbooking almost seven years ago after being invited to a workshop. Scrapbooking was the perfect avenue to combine my love for photography, art and the sentimental need to collect and document all her family's precious memories. Together with my sister in-law I later opened a LSS which we ran for several years. I have shared my passion by teaching at my LSS and working for several online stores in the industry. I have been awarded an Honorable Mention both in For Keeps Elite Team and in the Scrapbooking Memories (one of Australia's major Scrapbooking publication) for 3 consecutive years. My work has been published regularly in For Keeps, Scrapbook Creations, Creating Keepsakes (Aussie Reader section) and Scrapbooking Memories. I am thrilled to be continued working with Piggy Tales (and 3M) as part of their design team.I reside in sunny Queensland, Australia with my husband of 23 years and 3 of our five children. Together we have 5 offspring - 2 sons and 3 daughters. 3 of our children are now young adults and we are about to be grandparents for the first time this year! My family is most definitely my inspiration for all my work.

Back from CKU!

Hi everyone!  I had such a wonderful time in Provo this past weekend!  I can't believe it's over!  Debbie and my cousins Jen and Val came along as students!  They had sooo much FUN!  We went to some amazing restaurants in Provo and Orem, did a little shopping at Archivers and stayed up WAY too late just catchin up on old times! 

At CKU my students created a special Slide Book titled "My Love Bugs".  The inspiration was taken from my 3 year old boy whom we called "buggy boos" when he was younger.  The first page begins with memories of his birth.  Then through out the rest of the book I've recorded memories I have of tub time, getting dirty, and climbing trees!  Isaac loves to look through this book because the slides move back and forth creating an interactive book that keeps him busy for a little while (at the doc's office, at church or as a bedtime story).  He loves just looking at photos of himself too!  Don't all toddlers!  Hope you enjoy!

I've posted the images of the CKU class on my blog trinalinford.blogspot.com.  This is a FREE class and you didn't even have to attend CKU!!  The images are of the actual class sample I used for instruction.  It doesn't have the photos, so it makes it easier for you to see where you need to add your photos.
